GPT-4: OpenAI has released a new version of its ChatGPT chatbot but what’s different?

Given the fact that artificial intelligence (AI) bots learn based on analysing lots of online data, ChatGPT’s failures in some areas and its users’ experiences have helped make GPT-4 a better and safer tool to use. Describing it as a model with the “best-ever results on capabilities and alignment,” ChatGPT’s creator OpenAI has spent six months developing this improved version promising more creativity and less likelihood of misinformation and biases. GPT-4 is a powerful tool for businesses looking to automate tasks, improve efficiency, and stay ahead of the competition in the fast-paced digital landscape.

OpenAI also claims that the new model supports a chatbot that’s more factual, creative, concise, and can understand images, instead of just text. OpenAI also announced new partnerships with language learning app Duolingo and Be My Eyes, an application for the visually impaired, to create AI Chatbots which can assist their users using natural language. GPT-4 can also be confidently wrong in its predictions, not taking care to double-check work when it’s likely to make a mistake. Interestingly, the base pre-trained model is highly calibrated (its predicted confidence in an answer generally matches the probability of being correct).

It’s important to note that BingGPT has limitations on how many conversations you can have a day, and it doesn’t allow you to input images. One tangible way people are measuring the capabilities of new artificial intelligence tools is by seeing how well they can perform on standardized tests, like the SAT and the bar exam. Generative AI uses algorithms and predictive text to create new content based on prompts.
